Strength Training for Self Defense

I get a lot of questions about training methods for
self defense. Someday I will film a video on the
various types of training I do and recommend to my
students.

While this Newsletter is NOT focused on strength training,
I would like to spend just a couple of minutes on the 
subject. Strength training is one part of what I believe 
are the three major areas of vital exercise.

They being some sort of cardio training, flexibility and
strength training.

These are issues somewhat related to self defense but more
importantly for good health and longevity.

Let's face it. Having good strength, flexibility and 
endurance would all be valuable to have in a real life
self defense situation. 

During periods of high stress and strong anaerobic 
muscular use (which is precisely what would happen 
in a self defense situation) it is very easy to 
become winded very quickly, sometimes within just 
seconds. If you have ever watched a street fight that
didn't end after 60 seconds or so you know exactly
what I mean.

Strength training has many benefits. The problem for
many of us is that we do not have the time to invest
in weight or gym equipment training. I know this is the
case in my own situation. I have found a solution however
