"How can I overcome the adrenal rush?"

This is a question I get quite often. 

Our study of self defense, taking the adrenal rush 
into effect, has brought us to a few specific conclusions. 
For the most part we have tested these out under duress 
through special adrenal stress response training and 
from feedback from those who unfortunately had to use 
it on the street.

They are:

1. The adrenal rush is a natural response to real 
aggression.

2. Very few people can actually stop it from happening.

3. The key is not to stop up, but rather use it for your 
benefit.

4. Most self defense taught in traditional arts will 
not work on the street.

5. For self defense to be effective under an adrenal 
rush it needs to be simple and direct.

6. Learning "56 different techniques" from a frontal 
attack is not only unnecessary but dangerous.

7. Most of us cannot execute self defense maneuvers that 
contain more than four or five steps under duress.

8. Understanding this phenomenon is the first step in 
dealing with it.

8. A system is needed (and needs to be practiced) that 
is not only simple and direct but contains a 'point of 
reference', which other techniques from similar attacks 
can be reached. At this point the same follow up techniques 
are used. This limits the number and complexity of the 
techniques necessary for follow up and finishing an 
opponent.

9. Next would be to learn a system that contained the above.

10. The last part would be to take part in a least one 
(several would be better) adrenal stress response seminars 
(like the F.A.S.T. Defense seminars). This would give 
you hands on experience and give you the opportunity to 
feel the adrenal rush while defending yourself against 
a padded assailant.

I believe that this is the best and fastest way to give 
yourself the best chance possible should you be attacked
